America250

2026 marks the 250th year of American Democracy—a big feat that requires an equally large celebration. But how do you create a brand for a country that means so many different things to so many different people? This was the burning question that fueled the creation of the America250 brand identity. Landor was tasked with creating a brand so revolutionary, that even Ben Franklin would give it his stamp of approval.

We also extended the design system to something more consumer-facing that aimed to celebrate different aspects of America.

The following concept, titled “You’re the Star,” is an identity system that was pitched to the America250 Foundation in September 2019. While it was not chosen to move forward as the main identity for the celebration 2019–2023, this design system remains one that I am the most proud of today.
